"Love is Blind"

May 11, 2009

Perhaps that phrase is true because it seems that every language has that saying.

Ljubezen je slepa
Aşkın gözü kördür
любовь слепa
L'amore è cieco
L'amour est aveugle

But is it really? Sometimes, I feel like true love is seeing everything--the good, the bad, the truth, the reality, the faults, the happiness. Everything. You love the person knowing that they aren't perfect. And I don't mean the "no one's perfect because we're human" type "perfect", but the idea that this person is perfect For You. I love the man in my life, but I feel as though this Love is not just any average love. Is that grandiose of me to say? I know this man is far from perfect and I see so many faults in him. But are faults a negative quality? If you're painting and "mess up", is it really a mishap? or do you work with it and make it something beautiful? I think Love is seeing everything and loving the person just the same, or even more. Because of these "faults" I have this man. Without these qualities, I would not have this man that I love. And I do love him.
