One of those "What would you take on a deserted island" things

September 11, 2009

It might be my whole Clinique suitcase of stuff. I can't live without this trio. Everyday, all day. I have two or three different travel sizes of each for different occasions, so it's never a hassle having my kit with me. This is my skin-cleaning ritual before bed:
1. eye make-up remover (if wearing make-up)
2. mousse foaming cleanser
3. face soap (pictures above)
4. toner/clarifying lotion (pictured above)
5. lotion (pictured above)
6. "moisture surge" (when it's dry out)
7. under eye lotion (I never want bags so I'm preparing)
8. salicylic acid

It doesn't bother me to do this every night because I've been doing it since I was in 7th grade. My mom is often mistaken for my sister, and it's because she's been taking care of her skin so well for most of her life. I'm not worried about getting lines/getting older (I'm actually looking forward to salt-and-peppery hair), but I'd like to stay somewhat youthful and healthy for as long as I can. Your body is a wonderland.

Ahn young ha sae yo

Momma told me about a new Korean restaurant that opened in Hollywood called SHIN. It's owned by one of the guys in The Strokes, Lindsay Lohan's ex-lesbian lover's BROTHER, and Gerard Butler aka the guy from 300. I guess the dude from The Strokes went to Korea and now has an obsession with Korean food.

And speaking of Korean food. I was desperately craving "dolsot bibimbap" which is just a vegetable hodgepodge on top of rice in a flaming hot stone pot. For some reason the weather and the time of night called for the occasion so the Dude and I went to Aloha right around the corner.

You made PIZZA for dinner?

September 08, 2009

Domestic abuse is not funny, but really? The best scenario you can come up with is "'Dinner's ready' is pizza?"

Nooo

There have been rumors about the sequel to Boondock Saints for years and I was beginning to not think it was going to happen. My brother somehow got tickets to a "special screening" in Irvine, but "lost his tickets" so that's when I really thought that it was a rumor. Thennn he showed me this trailer and now I'm just disappointed. It's going to be another Shoot 'Em Up or something outrageous. Being "a Saint" was soo cool. Now it's just cheesy.

Let's not forget to mention Sean Patrick Flannery's over-botoxed/face-lifted face. Maybe it's cliche to call anything "selling out" anymore, but Troy Duffy is a fucking sell out, trying to make a big buck. And it's going to happen because for a movie that never came out in theaters, it's HUGE and freakishly rad.

Kayden!

We went to Philly after the Belmar and stayed for the long weekend. It was nice and relaxing. I met someone that I've been interested in meeting for a while. He's hated by a certain BMX-blogger and it's sad that the rest of the little bike community has jumped on the bandwagon to hate him also. I thought he was awesome and really funny.

Other than that, I didn't really do much. Colleen and I were going to go to the PMA after brunch on Sunday, but we ended up hanging out with the guys and eating for too long and the museum closed :( So we did some light shopping and walked around Center City. I spent most of today sleeping. I kid you not, I fell asleep at 11:30 last night, woke up at 9:30am, went to sleep at 2:30pm, and woke up at 7:00. It's almost 2:00am and I am still ready to do some more sleeping. I'd like to look at it as making up for the two hours I slept on Friday night, but there really is no excuse for taking a 4-hour coma in the middle of the day.

The Dude spent most of his time riding with this guy. He was filming with MTV for something no one knew about. Garrett thought he was filming with Fuel the first day only to find out they were from MTV. Cha-ching.
