Cinco de Mayo garland

I've celebrated Cino de Mayo hard in my day. If I was at home, I'd scrounge up the photo of me at about 8-years old in a Mexican dress, red lipstick, and a paper flower in my hair from when I lived in Laredo. Out here, I don't think it's celebrated the way I'm used to (with Menudo) but I'll try to bring a taste of home (because sometimes I think I'm Mexican) to Baltimore. You know, Cinco de Mayo isn't celebrated throughout all of Mexico and was created by California Mexicans to celebrate the Mexican victory over the French invasion in the Civil War. It's not Mexico's Independence Day. Just sayin'.

I made this garland for a small gathering-of-friends I'm having tomorrow. Ain't is purty?
