Obama on The View?

July 26, 2010

Airing this Thursday. Let's watch Elizabeth Hasselback argue with The President or say something overtly opinionated and ignorant.

AYYEEE

School's out for summer!

This is me on the phone with my dad while he's congratulating me on the end of my summer semester and telling me about a hawk that ran into the house.

And this is me celebrating the end of a Baltimore summer. Hello California!

The Dude

Hello BOOBS

Aren't we excited to see Blake Lively in The Town playing a trashy Bostonette? Mmm yummy.

Butterflies!

July 24, 2010

Mikey and I went to DC yesterday to do one museum run and watch SALT. We picked the Natural History Museum (which was packed full of boy scouts) and spent a couple hours in there. We spent about 45 minutes in this little butterfly room where the climate is extremely controlled and hundreds fly around you/on you. It was amazing. Some of the colors of the butterflies were unreal. Neon green and bright blues, pink and yellows.. agh. So pretty. My brother was having a field day taking photos of them.

On the way out, there's a separate room with a giant mirror for people to look for any "hitch hiking butterflies", which I thought was cute.

So magical.

Ocean City

Took Mikey to Ocean City. "East Coast beaches suck." Amen brother. But, it's nice to be in 82 degree weather as opposed to the 100 in Baltimore, which is the only way I'd drive 3 hours to go to a beach. Playing in the water with my two favorite boys was fun. I think I can leave them together all day and they wouldn't even know I was gone.

Dinner was yummy. The boys got Maryland crab soups and I got a huge salad. We shared onion rings and 1 1/2 pounds of skrimp. Ice cream at Wawa on the way back and we called it a day.

Burger Night

with a bunch of dudes is my favorite. The Dude looking like a cholo, not so much.

But secretly I really like it.

It's so fluffy I wanna die!

Stranger dreams

July 19, 2010

I had a dream last night about someone I've never spoken to, have been around once, and have never thought twice about. Someone that matters not in my life whatsoever, yet a whole nights sleep dedicated to this person. It leaves me feeling strange because the dream was romantic, as if suddenly I am connected to this person.

After Inception, I'm sure there'll be plenty of talk about dreams vs reality ladida but that's not what I'm going for, I swur. It was just extremely difficult to wake up this morning because I was caught up in this dream with someone I don't know at all. I don't even know what his voice sounds like. But the dream was so vivid. So real.

Dinner on the stoop

July 18, 2010

Rotini and 4-cheeses, roasted asparagus and broccolini, peach raspberry iced tea and fruit smoothies! 3 hungry boys, well fed. Last night I made tacos, guacamole and tiramisu :)

Fartscape

We've been spending about an hour a day at Artscape, mostly eating and drinking. The coolest thing, I'd say, was the "DeLorean". It wasn't actually a DeLorean, but I thought it was still rad. The Dude's favorite part of Artscape are the mist tents, which he took full advantage of in the blazing 100 degree sun. Cold War Kids for about 5 minutes and we were done.

There's still hope for me

Cruel Summer

Disheveled. Sorry, it's hot.

This weather is out of control and out of its mind. Scary thunderstorms one minute, humid sun the next.. make up your mind! (and don't pick thunderstorm)

Ponies!

I love when people drive the wrong way on my street

It's funny watching them freak out.

Educated MMS

July 09, 2010

Jenae sent me this picture text this morning and I could not stop laughing. I would assume that only 1 or 2 people that read this place would get it, but then again, people surprise me sometimes. I don't even know if I love Matthew Barney, but I do love really nerdy art references.

Alright, last post about Rochester

I really wanted this photo to turn out, but the combination of my alcohol level, standing on a plastic chair, and being held up by an Englishman made it turn out like this:

Luckily, someone else captured the moment a milisecond after.

Amazing.

New favorite show

July 08, 2010

Bones has been on since 2005 and I am discovering it five years later. How is this so? Why don't I watch more TELEVISION. Where am I?

The show is so easy to watch and every episode is its own. The characters are hilarious and once you get past the David Boreanaz/Angel thing, it's awesome. That girl up there is Zooey Deschanel's sister. All 5 seasons are available on Play Instantly. I will not leave my apartment.

Jesus Cristo (pronounced hayzeus-cristo) in Portugal Playboy

Did Jesus wear a pageant sash?

More of the weekend in Rochester

All of the girls took pictures this weekend and they've slowly surfaced on Facebook over the last few days. And every time, it makes me sadder and sadder because I already miss 'em.

There are a bunch of blurry photos from JIW's digital point-and-shoot that I'm pretty sure Aaron took. Why they are blurry, I haven't a clue. Perhaps it was a direct reflection on his view of the night.

Still, awesome weekend.

It's 105 degrees in Baltimore

July 07, 2010

so I made strawberry ice cream!

And pesto with asparagus and sun-dried tomatoes.

I've never made ice cream before but it wasn't that bad. I don't have an ice cream churner so the ice crystalized more than I'd like, but it's still tasty. There's something about homemade ice cream. Maybe it's because there are only a handful of ingredients and I took part in including all of them without any of them having strange names like xanthamantham gum or ascorbicicky acid or something.

Sick Sick Sicks

July 05, 2010

The Dude and I got back from Rochester yester-evening and have been loungin' since we got back. The drive + the night before made me too tired to partake in 4th of July festivities, which was fine with me. The few days in Rochester was one of the best times I've had in a while. It's so strange how "serious"/BORING my life has become in the last two years. School + work + schoolwork + going to CA any chance I get gives me no time to play like it's 1999.

The best part of the weekend was getting to know complete strangers. I thought the weekend was going to be me sitting, watching The Dude play with his dudes but it was more of a family affair. Conversations with dudes, sharing wine with a legend, playing with girls.. the weekend was too good. I took flicktures:

It's been a while since I've taken photos and I'm stoked to have taken a camera up to Rochester. The 6-hour drive with The Dude was insanely beautiful through Pennsylvania. Mini-road trips always make me happy because I love driving so much and I might need some more in the near future.

Good times.
