Weekend

March 30, 2012

Working hard
I am really lucky to get to go to the theatre at least once a month. This month, alone, I have gone three times (Death of a Salesman, Once, and tonight, End of the Rainbow). It's easy to take advantage of things like that in a world where going to the theatre is normal and almost assumed. Never, do I want to take advantage of such a luxury. The word "blessed" seems passé or silly but it's the only word I can use to describe my life right now. "Luck" doesn't seem to be it, because I'm passed luck at this point.

This weekend I will be cooking, attending a Pete & Pete-za party, going to the theatre, having brunch in Brooklyn, and doing laundry. The weekends are too short, especially when you spend one of those days without your lover.

Have a nice weekend~

Manhattan Oil Project

Photo and article at The New York Times

"If it looks as if someone just struck oil in a vacant lot near Times Square, it may be a while before you see any evidence of Texas tea.

The two 25-foot simulated oil pump jacks bobbing up and down at the southeast corner of 46th Street and Eighth Avenue are actually a new sculptural work by the New York-based artist Josephine Meckseper. An initiative by the nonprofit Art Production Fund, “Manhattan Oil Project” officially opens today and will remain on view through May 6."

Must be nice

March 16, 2012

November 2011. Catskills, New York. Thanksgiving, taken by My Danny.

It must be nice not to have to work 5 days a week, nearly 10 hours a day. It must be nice to live at home and travel with the money you don't have to pay bills with. It must be nice to be able to run home to your parents house and have zero responsibility, other than playing and buying clothes.

This place (this internet place) has been slow, but it is because I hardly have time to pay attention to it. I spend most of my day on a computer, yet I don't look at anything that really interests me, which means this place (this internet place--my place of interest) shuts down. I used to tend to this place on the weekends, but my weekends are for doing things I don't have time to do during the week: Catch up with friends, laundry, listen to the news, cooking, television-watching, enjoying New York City..

Today is my mother's birthday.

Have a nice weekend.
