Can you believe she is a mother of two?

I'm missing my brother

Lately, I've been finding myself saying, "I wish Mikey was here.." during some random thing I'm doing. The nice part is, The Dude says, "Me too."

You go away for school and you're having the best time of your life, meeting new people, doing new things.. but after a while, that's not what you want. And by 'you', I mean ME. I. Tammy.

Maybe it's because I'm really close with my family, but when I go home it's not to see my friends (no offense to ya'll), but to see my family and my dogs. I remember freshman year at MICA, I was spending every moment I could in Baltimore. I didn't go home for Thanksgiving of spring break. Now, I'm finding every excuse to go home. And I miss more than my family, I miss California. I miss FOOD. I miss Weather. I miss the warm sun and the beach. I miss freeways.

The other day, I told The Dude that I was homesick. He said, "You're always homesick," which might be true. I'm totally stoked on Baltimore and school and the life here.. I just also miss Home. Home.

Anyways, I miss Mikey right now #1. I want him here, hanging out with me.

Retro lunch part 7

or something like that.

I feel like egg salad sandwiches have a bad reputation. Is it because it's eggs? Or the mayo? I was telling the Dude that I understand the deal with mayo. I hate the stuff. But when it's organic and only a little bit is jammin' with the eggs, I'm all for it. So, for lunch we have egg salad sandwich accompanied with really good salt and pepper chips from OK Natural and dill pickles. It's the kind of meal people don't eat anymore. It's a meal that also feels like summer time, na mean? It's not super healthy but it feels good to eat. I guess I'm hoping that the food I eat will rub off on the Mother Nature and she'll give me some 70 degree weather.

White

I'm in love with old men with all white hair and white moustache's. Although I don't think I'll ever get to have a full head of white hair since I'm Asian (nor do I think it'll match my complexion), I'd love to have a full head of ivory. Maybe even salt and pepper streaks. So pretty.

Dick Van Dyke is a primo example.

Saturday night and I fell asleep at 11pm. Woke up at 8 this morning and felt some light vertigo. I knew it wasn't going to be a healthy day. Went upstairs and turned on the TV. Movies movies movies. Banana french toast for breakfast and a bowl of oatmeal for lunch. I wanted to go to the studio, but it just wasn't that day. Dizzy dizzy dizzy. I fell asleep after half of my oatmeal and woke up at 3. More movies on TV. Still dizzy.

The Notebook is on now and I am going to watch it and I am going to love it. Ryan Gosling makes life worth living.

It's just one of those days.

No coffee?

No coffee.

During the great blizzard of 2010, I decided to go easy on the coffee. And by go easy, I mean cut it out temporarily. For a large portion of my life I greatly relied on coffee. I'm not an all-day coffee drinker, but I needed it to survive my day because without coffee, 4pm comes around and I am falling out of my chair and into a coma. It's terrible. With the coma comes an un-tiredness come midnight which leads to 4 hours of sleep and a need for coffee in the morn. And the cycle continues.

Like kicking any addiction, I got headaches and was cranky. The headaches were bad. But here I am, weeks without coffee and a reliance on a full 6-7 hours of sleep a night. A cup of tea in the morning and I am ready to go with my day. I have replaced coffee with tea, which is still caffeine, but if only you could see how dark the black was in my French press.

I plan on returning to my lovely French press in the near future, I just think I needed to kick the terrible schedule I was on. Why do I tell you this? Because it is a feat. If you know me.

One of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time

No Dayton :(

I was supposed to spend the weekend in Dayton to hang out with Jake but life is just not having it. I spent all of yesterday morning talking to people in India about canceling my flight and could barely hear them. IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE THERE'S AN OCEAN BETWEEN US. What is that called? When you call a company and they have hundreds of phone operators in another country? Like in Slumdog.. ANYWAYS. Too much school work, plus a photoshoot at Gentei which means tons of sprucing of the shop. Not an endless bummer, but a temporary one.

Curling

Maybe I've been under a rock for the last 22 years or something because I have NEVER heard of Curling. I was zoomin' through the tele last night and saw this Olympic sport in action and I was hooked. I was waiting for the commentators to tell me what sport I was watching and the Dude finally Googled the damn thing, searching "broom, stone, olympics". God bless Google.

My new favorite sport.

For some reason, this looks staged

To me, at least.

Here's the thing

When putting on a little bike documentary screening in Baltimore, you have to include the little kids that actually ride little bikes. When making it 21+ at a bar on North Avenue on a Wednesday night, you kind of exclude all of those kids. Instead, it's put on by a group of hipsters that call themselves something ridiculous that don't ride little bikes. Did you even know that you can find over a dozen dude's that ride little bikes at Charm on Tuesday nights? Maybe they're not as cool as Baltimore hipsters who ride track bikes (or even some of the guys that do ride BMX in the area) and do tricks at the lot across the street from my apartment.. but they're the kids that actually ride BMX and go to FBM events. The Dude is probably the only one that actually knows the guy that put the documentary together and has gone to every big event FBM has put on, not to mention the guy that runs the company.

It pisses me off.

My Valentine's Day

The earlier part of the day was spent reading Virginia Woolf, sippin' on tea, and eating the snack below. Kiki and I decided to double date with our men to get sushi. Aloha was decked out in roses, balloons, and Love Music.

"When a bigtime movie star or politician dies someone like Tom Brokaw has always been there to help put it into perspective.
If it was a sports star, fans would talk about it for days on talk radio.
However, for someone that loves fashion Alexander McQueen is just gone and no one seems to be able to make sense of it.
There doesn't seem to be anywhere to turn to make it feel right or understandable.
I don't have any answers for you either. All I know is this sucks.
"

Here, we remember McQueen. Not just for a day.
